Scientific Games has extended its partnership with the Ohio Lottery for two further years, regarding the Scratch-Off Games management and SCiQ retail point-of-sale technology.

The SCiQ technology is also afforded to over 800 Ohio convenience stores, allowing brands such as Circle K and Speedway to sell Ohio Lottery products in-store.

Through SCiQ, retail sales figures and data can be delivered to the appropriate companies in real-time.

John Schulz,Online Casino Games Scientific Game President of Americas and Global Instant Products, said: “We thank the Ohio Lottery for having the vision to partner with us on instant games to optimise the product portfolio and generate maximum revenues for education.

“Ohio was also one of the first lotteries to launch our breakthrough SCiQ ecosystem at retail, which is the first technology of its kind to help retailers fully manage the lottery category in-store.”

Since operating under the Scientific Games Enhanced Partnership, sales from the Ohio Lottery grew from $1.6bn in 2019 to $2.3bn in 2023.

Not only that, but the Ohio Lottery also reported an 8.8% compound annual growth rate from its weekly capita sales between 2019 and 2023, when compared to an average 5% rate for the top 10 US lotteries during the same time.

As part of its global lottery strategy, Scientific Games was also chosen to power the New Zealand National Lottery.
